Floating Sans Floats
May 2026

A reminder that the images below are links to enlarged versions.

Thomas has recently gotten his Jacquard loom running. This charming scene shows swans floating and a boat that isn't.

So pleased that he finally has a loom up to his creativity..

Katy showed the perfect example of floats and non-floats.

This is a overshot sampler that she did in a class. Floats and non-floats indeed.

Carol S. made this terrific tapestry. No real floats in the weaving but ther is the leaf floating on water.

. We admire the great technique she showed and the wonderful choice of color.

Terry felt that floating meant water. Here he tried the capture the feel of a rippling stream.

The warp and weft are 16/2 bamboo, a current favorite.

Claudia showed this work with items floating over the surface.

We can alway count on Claudia to come up with a clever response. We particulary like that the various elements are floating on the surface.

Thomas also show another work that answered an earlier challenge; Thinking Outside the Box.

With work like this we know we are going to see more wonderfully creative work. Weave on Thomas!!.
