Sweet and Sour
May 2025
A reminder that the images below are links to enlarged versions.
We are not sure where this challenge came from. "Sweet and Sour" certainly had a variety of responses.

Carol got a new ink;e loom and has been weaving with tablets on it. This piece is really tricky because it had tablets switchng locations.
 .
At one point it required three shuttles for the weft. The pattern reminds me of jujubes I used to get at the movies when I was a kid.

Claudia was thinking of Chinese "Sweet and Sour" soup. She found the characters for sweet and sour and drew then on the warp.

The weft in this delicate piece was metalic sewing thread. Wow!

Katy worked this piece in some sticky metalic tape as well as some multiple strands of yarn.

It is certainly an unusual combination of materials but they really work here.

Oren created this work for his mother who wanted a table runner in red and orange.

The pattern makes the piece look likke it is in motion.

Thomas showed this needle felted work. The fleece came from animals he owned. I am guesing alpaca. Colors are natural.

The heart in the design the "sweet" response. The photographer did not get the "sour" part but rest assured it was there.

Terry said that the sweetest thing he could think of was cotton candy. Hence the pink in these towels.

The the other warp colors were for citrus sour: lemons, limes and Seville oranges.
