Tropical Fantasy
July 2025
A reminder that the images below are links to enlarged versions.
Terry suggested this challenge. "Tropical Ffanatsy" as usual had some wild variations.

Terry showed this wall hanging. The tropical leaves were stecilled on the warp before weaving.

There are four different colors in the warp and they are threaded randomly. It is woven in a crepe weave.

Katy brought this from a class she attended at MAFA. It was transparency weaving.

This looks realy tricky to do. You are working with the yarn for the ground weft as well as two other colors for pattern. Great results.

Claudia created this stunning scarf that she saw as a Tropical Sunrise.
 .
Such lovely soft colors. And, as usual with Claudia, it had a terrific hand.

Oren always comes up with some splendid technical challenges. This is block double weave. THe framing layer is a very complex weave. .
 .
The windows are in plain weave but they are anything but plain. They look like a tropical sky.

Carol let the colors of the luscious towel say "tropical".
 .
I can see here all kiinds oftropical fruit. Mango, papaya, melon. Yum!

Thomas has his loom under repair right now. He nontheless conjured a tropical drink to delight the crew.
 .
The delisious looking liquid is actually his handspun yarn. Cheers!!!.
