A Journey
February 2019
"A Journey" was the challenge suggested by Leila. She will start off.
Leila is recently back from a trip to the Amazon in Colombia. This spectacular scarf reflects that voyage.
Lots of glimpse of jungle flowers, river water and vegetation. Terrific.
Carie wove the painted warp she bought on her trip to MAFA last time. Certainly a fine finish for that trip.
Just love the shimmer of the weft.
Terry recently found a lot of sign posts for his voyage through this life. Mostly pictures and items from a baby book. Considering that he decided to create another memory for his "autumn" years.
The warp was painted before it was woven. Real leaves formed the pattern for stenciling.
Carol too was reminded of lifes journey. The scarf on the left was an early hand woven gift from her mother that she truly loves. The scarf on the right plays on the themes in the original with lots of different threads in the warp.
The results are wonderful. Just love the color choices.
Ronnie created this wonderful scarf as a journey. It was from her to Darby to thank her for all her help when
Ronnie was was in rehab, including getting her out of there.
The wonderful pattern comes from the "Stubinitsky Code". Really wonnderful.
