OUR GROUP CHALLENGES
A small pattern
June 2017
"A Small Pattern" was the challenge suggested by Ronnie. As it was her challenge we let her go first.
Ronnie has been intrigued by the "Bateman" weaves. They certainly produce some fascinating designs.
No body can beat her when it comes to chenille.
Leila has a wonderful supply of exotic yarns and she knows how to blend them. Terrific.
Everything seems to work together for her.
Claudia created these pieces using the technique that Nell Znamierowski taught us at a recent Guild meeting.
We think the results beautifully capture the inspiration in the picture.
Darby pulled off this wonderful piece. Tricky because of the wedge shaped weft blocks. But it really works.
Darby should do more of these. They are really spectacular.
Terry did a table mat with a crepe weave in cotton. The stripes are inspired (again) by the talk at th Guild by Nell Znamierowski.
The repeated stripes could have been mirrored for a different effect.
