A Step Further
May 2024
"A Step Further" was the challenge suggested by Carol. She found it in a book by a tpestry artist and thought the title would work for us.
Terry went "A Step Further" in exploring lace weaves. He recent rediscovered this type of weaving.
The steps could also be interpreted by the stair like pattern in the huck lace.
Oren did these wonderful pieces on his 16 shaft table loom.
We love the pattern. Oren said it wasn't easy keeping track of where he was in the long treadling sequence.
Thomas contined his exploration of double weave. He said that there are ten shafts for each layer. Wow!
Thomas took "A Further Step" by putting in footprints in one of the layers. So clever.
Katy went "A Step Further" by weaving this VERY fine silk scarf. So elegant.
Normally Katy weaves large (really LARGE) pictographic pieces. This beautiful piece is an exception. !
Carol, after a recent Guild Meeting where the techinque was discussed, wove this terrific tablet pieces.
We can proudly say that she has added another talent to the many she already posesses. Wonderful work. Congratulations.
