Black with Many Colors
February 2025
A reminder that the images below are links to enlarged versions.
"Black with Many Colors" was the challenge suggested by Ronnie. She will start us off.

Ronnie hit this onne out of the park. Brilliant. She said it was a Bateman weave.

The colors work so well here mixed with the black. Fun pattern..

Katy did these pieces in a class given by Madelyn Vanderhoogt. They fit the challenge perfectly.

The pattern is a 1/3 twill with small 3/1 twill blocks on eight shafts.

Thomas alway astonishes us with his work. As you can see with the quarter used for scale, this is very fine work. The sett is over 100 ends per inch.

And it is double weave. Hard to imagine working this fine and yet Thomas thrives working this way. Bravo!

Terry challenged himself further by not changing the tie up on the loom but trying different treadlings. .

He said that he doesn't like symmetry so all the stripes are unique in number of ends and color cobmination.
'

Claudia does not weave with wool very often but she was very successful here. She carefully watched her beat as she knew the yarn would change in wet finishing.

Great that she wove both ends of the sscarf in houndstooth but left the middle a plain twill.

Carol also worked in wool. This is Harrisville singles that she inherited with her loom.
 .
Wonderful choice of lolor and pattern. .
