Yellow Brick Road
September 2017
"Yellow Brick Road " Carie's challenge. Again the responses were extremely varied. But they ALL had yellow. No surprise there.
Carie worked a long time on creating this original draft. It does indeed look like it could be a road.
Such wonderful colors and we love the varigated yarn in the warp.
Ronnie came up with another very unique Bateman weave. The warp meanders like a road don't you think?
Wondefrfully soft chenille. Very well done.
Sue was spot on with these table runners. The bottom one is for the challenge and the top is another from the same warp.
You can even see the little bricks in the weaving.
Another spectacular rug from Darby. The yellow bricks are right there up front.
Lucky the person who gets one of her rugs. This one is particularly lovely.
Claudia got the brick pattern down perfectly. There is even the mortar between the bricks.
Very skillfull interpretation of the challenge. Brava Claudia!
Leila got all the elements of the Wizard of Oz story in this scarf. The tin man, the cowardly lion, Dorothy's ruby slippers all make an appearance.
And it ends with the yellow brick road. Lot going on here!
Terry felt that since The Wizard of OZ was a technicolor film it should have a very colorful warp.
The pattern was meant to suggest a winding road. All threads are silk.
