OUR GROUP CHALLENGES
Continuation
February 2017
"Continuation" was the challenge given to us by Carie. She starts off below.
Carie continued to work on a sample from a workshop on Echo. Very, very pretty. She says there are four colors in the warp.
Wonderful patterning. And just a change in the weft and everything is new again.
Terry continued using his handspun yarn for the past few challenges. This time both warp and weft were his work.
The blue weft is varigated merino and the grey is natural blue faced leister.
Ronnie continued to explore Bateman weaves. She says that they are designed for very fine threads but they really work well with her favorite yarn, chenille.
Amazing the difference between the front and back (which is which?) of the weaving.
Darby continued exploring rep weave and these terrific pieces for the wall.
These are truly wonderful. Which way should they be displayed? Next to one another? One atop the other? Either way they are just terrific.
Claudia continued doing work she did from long ago. Just love the painted warp.
She says the warp in rayon and the weft is (YIKES!) invisible sewing thread. Background is hand made paper made awhile back. Great stuff!
Leila contiued doing wonderful things with this scarf. It was her usual adventurous work.
I think we would ALL agree that she has no fear of color and trying new things.
