June 2024
"Riding the Waves" was the challenge suggested by Carol. She found it in a book by a tpestry artist and thought the title would work for us.

Claudia very carefully cut out all the dark blue part of the famous Hokusai print "The Great Wave" and place her woven piece behind.

Wonderful how this works so well.

Thomas contined his exploration of double weave. In addition to finding how to weave twill on one of the layers, he did this wonderful symbol in pick up. Wow!

The Yin and Yang symbol represents differences but interconnectedness. Very appropriate for double weave we think.

Terry thoght these may not be "waves" but more like ripples in the water.

Woven in 16/2 bamboo. Not sure he would repeat this because of the excentric threading and treadling. Still . . . .

Carol worked in a wave feeling with an advancing twill pattern. This is all tencel.
