Elegant Diamond
August 2024
"Elegant Diamond" was the challenge suggested by Carol. She found it in a book by a tpestry artist and thought the title would work for us.
Claudia needed a new table runner afer some renovation on her dining room. This wonderful piece in cotton is perfect for her.
As she wanted it reversible she didn't want to have a hemmed end. That is the reason for the wonderful fancy fringe. Will great no matter which side is up.
Thomas had a perfect example of Elegant Diamond ready in his stash. It is 100% linen. What a wonderful pattern.
THis is such and elegant treatment for this thirsty towel.
Terry was not terribly happy with this one because he felt there was not enough contast between the white bamboo/cotton warp and the grey bamboo weft.
Woven in 16/2 bamboo. It does show up better when you clic on the image to get a larger picture. As a matter of fact ALL the look better when enlarged.
Carol created this super scarf. And the diamond pattern is really evident. Again click on the image for a close up view.
Terrific colors. The person who gets this is one lucky individual.
Katy couldn't be with us but she sent these pictures of her interpretation of Elegant Diamond
She attended a class on 'sprang' at Convergence over the summer and she made this great bag.
This is a close up. We can see that it is not at all like a woven piece.
Oren created this wall piece for a friend of a friend. Complicated as can be but still has diamond motifs.
We love looking at detail views. He said it was woven on 16 shafts.
Because he was not happy with the first attempt at "Elegant Diamond" Terry tried again. Not to elegant but this time there is clearly a diamond like pattern.
All cotton towels with a shadow weave pattern.
