OUR GROUP CHALLENGES
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes
October 2020
"Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" was the challenge suggested by Claudia. She will start our meeting in the garden chez Ronnie.
Claudia created this fabulous scarf in smoky colors. She said that she got the idea for this challenge from a musician who was playing this song as we were leaving one of our previous meetings.
She said she was happy with the new fringe twister that she got. Sure works here.
Leila worked her usual magic on this wonderful scarf. Smoky? Oh my yes.
She manages to mix yarns in such an intriguing way. Love the way she worked in the tiny sequins.
Carol dipped into her stash and came up with these wonderful yarns. What did she say? Alpaca? In any case quite stunning.
This really makes a great warm feeling aroung ones neck. It will be a toasty winter.
Darby has been away from her big loom during the pandemic but she was able to create this giddy potholder on her pin loom.
What fun colors. And such a practical thing to have. More please.
Ronnie again did her magic with chenille. Where ever does she get the inspiration? So beautiful.
Such great smoky colors. Brava!
Judy worked in two of her current watercolors into this plain weave piece. One was of her favorite mountain scene and the other her impression of smoke.
The mix certainly makes for a great art piece. Congrats Judy.
Terry once again used some of his handspun as weft for this scarf. The white and blue represent the smoke and the pinkish color the embers left.
The pattern to him looked a bit like smoke rising in the air.
