Ancient Elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Weaver's choice.
March 2019
"Ancient Elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Weaver's choice" was the challenge suggested by Terry and so Terry begins the show.
Four scarves woven 100% in a new fiber to him. Bamboo! It has super drape and is very light weight. A possible substitute for more expensive silk.
Can you guess which scarf goes with which element?
Carie created this charming pot holder on a trip with her husband. Pot holder looms are a lot easier to use while traveling.
Love the way the colors work.
Claudia worked all the elements into this great waffle weave hanging.
The colors are spectacular and the depth of the waffles is really wonderful. 3D!!!
Darby's answer to the challenge is this beautiful rug. Linen warp and wool weft in boundweave.
Just had to show the care taken with the fringe. So skillfully braided.
Sue our dear friend from the north rarely gets down to see us but she always has a wonderful piece.
This table runner has all the key elements in the color scheme.
Leila says the white is all void in space and the colors and textures are the various elements that ultimately come together in the end.
The use of unique yarns is a real talent that Leila has. Shown here to a wonderful degree.
Just had to show this work by Sue. She loves double weave pick up and here she shows off her talent with this technique. It is also quilted to give some depth. Congrats Sue.
Ronnie choose 'water' as her element for inspiration.
She claims it didn't work. Well we disagree. This certainly has a very water like feel. Wonderful.
