"Variations on the flag of my ancestors"
"Variations on the flag of my ancestors" was the Ronnie's challenge.
Ronnie's ancestors came from Lithuania. You can see a peek at their flag partially hidden by her sumptuous scarf.
Ronnie always works magic with chenille.
Terry has Irish ancestors on both sides of his family. The Irish "tricolor" is green, white and orange. The green is of Catholics; the orange is for Protestant and white is for the peace between them.
The three towels were from the same cotton warp with different treadlings. The suplemental one was woven with Irish linen.
Claudia's background is Italian. The colors of the flag work up beautifully in this scarf.
We love using the same color as the weft in the selvage warp threads. Makes for a beautifully finished look.
Carol had a German grandmother who did a lot of needle work. A lot of her pieces involved cherries.
Carol was able to get that theme in this terrific table runner. Very, very beaustiful.
Leila was not able to make the meeting but sent picturs of her work. Leila is from Colombia.
The flage is yellow, blue and red. The red is to represent the blood of patriots .
