OUR GROUP CHALLENGES
2 or 3 shafts in Black and White or other Colors - January 2020
"2 or 3 shafts in Black and White or other Colors" was the challenge suggested by Ronnie. She begins the show.
Ronnie always succeedes with these wonderful chenille scarves. Just have to love the wonderful plush feel and look.
Truly can't you just picture this lush wonder wrapped around your neck on a cold winters day?
Only three shafts as we can see from the draft but such a lovely complex pattern.
She said it was difficult keeping track of the pattern and had to chart it out carefully. It was completely worth it for this lovely piece.
Leila always has a success when she uses novelty yarn. And her technique for 'hatching' works so very will here.
Always extraordinary. Always beautiful.
Carol worked up this orignal three shaft pattern. What clever use of color in the weave.
Carol continues to show her terrific weaving 'chops'. Brava!
Terry said that the group had already seen the material in this scarf. Last summmer it was alpaca and silk fleece. He has since spun it and dyed it.
Three shaft woven in standard denim twill. The different areas depended on the alternating of 1, 2 or 4 wefts of black or white. Makes for an interesting gamp.
