OUR GROUP CHALLENGES
Inspired by a Trip
June 2015
"Inspired by a Trip" was Darby's challenge. And what a great meeting it was. Ronnie asked us to meet in the garden of her home in Kips Bay Towers. It was a perfect day under the shade of the trees. That accounts for a lot of the shadows in the pictures.
The ocean and beach in Puerto Rico inspired this wonderful mat.
She was really brave cutting up those towels for weft. She said her cat loves to sit on it.
Ronnie found a pattern called Brighton so she wove this magnificent scarf in that structure.
We all wanted to know was it "Brighton Beach" or "Brighton" in England.
Over thirty trips to France (Bleu, Blanc, Rouge!) Inspired these huck towels.
Towels were gifts to family and friends often. He had to stop because they didn't wear out and everyong had enough!
Our guest Liz is a wonderfu knitter. She said this hat reminded her of the flowers in the garden at Monet's Giverney.
I think we can agree that the hat is most flower like in color and the pattern as well.
